Watch a startup go from idea to paying users

Every step, every decision, every mistake (there will be many!), emailed to you.

Why am I qualified to do this?

Because I have a pulse, ambition, and a lot of free time. That’s all it takes!

Me posing with fans in Peru ^^

My name is Tim Jones. In a past life I was an engineer, YC founder, and Sr Product Manager.

Now I’m forging my own path as a solo, bootstrapped founder. My goal is freedom. I want to work on what I want, when I want, where I want.

Right now, my “what” is HelloHailey and my “where” is Taipei 🇹🇼.

Inspired by The Design Sprint

The Design Sprint is “a five-day process for solving problems and testing new ideas.” While reading about it, I wondered how I could apply these principles and practices to launching a startup and building an MVP, or minimum viable product.

My mission is to improve the success rate of new software startups.

90% of startups fail. And I probably will too. But I’ll do my best to fail fast, learn from my failures, and get back up on the keyboard.

What am I building?

First, the problem I’m solving: As a remote worker, it's hard to develop personal connections with coworkers distributed across time zones.

In Step Three, I built a landing page for HelloHailey. Grab an invite early access if you want to check it out :)

I used to socialize with the dogs in the office as much as my coworkers. They'd calm me down when I was stressed and cheer me up when I was down.

‍Hailey was my childhood golden retriever. ‍

Now she's everyone's (remote) office dog.

(and help me out with some feedback on the way)

I’ll share bi-weekly updates every Monday until I either fail and start again or am rolling in the dough of a modest bootstrapper’s salary.
